We, Emily and Chad, give God all of the glory for the lives we have individually and the life we live as a family. God has been with each of us in our darkest moments, provided us with the strength and wisdom to persevere in our worst times, and blessed us with each other and our son. We are both blessed with amazing parents and support systems, and we place our faith at the center of our lives. With God, nothing is impossible. Our hope in sharing our stories is to inspire others who may be struggling with their own darkness, fighting their own battles, whether the darkness or battles are physical, emotional/ psychological, spiritual, or a combination of these. We no longer ask “Why me” when dealing with life’s struggles. Instead, we ask God, “What now?” We wait in faith and listen with trust for God’s guidance. As long as we keep God at the center of our lives, our marriage, and our family, we know that God has us in the palm of His hand. We pray that you, the reader, can feel that peace beyond all understanding that is faith and trust in God’s will. May the Lord bless you and keep you!
God Said,
"It's not your time."
A couple’s separate near-death experience bring them closer to God. Chad survived an ATV accident that nearly killed him in 2000, and he lost everything. Three years later, he found Emily, and they married in 2003. Told they would never be able to have children, they welcomed their son, Keegan, a miracle baby, to the world in 2005. Life was beautiful, but a storm was on the horizon. In 2008, Emily nearly died from a ruptured colon. Together, their experiences brought them closer to each other, made them better parents, and – most importantly – brought them closer to God.
